This is my first time in CA and I’m pretty pumped about it.  Last night it was dark when we got in so we couldn’t see much scenary but this morning is a different story.

I haven’t seen good size hills/mountains in a long time. It’s a cool change of pace. Unfortunately Saturday we’ve got to ride up one.

I love The Soup and one of my favorite segments is when McHale makes fun of the Crotchety old Steve Edwards on Good Day LA. Got to see it live this morning. Awesome!!

Dear Diary,

What a great weekend!!  We got a TON done over the past few days.  Wait, I think I should start at the beginning (or end, of Friday that is).

So, Friday was our date night, as usual.  And let me tell you, it was strange!  I met Andy at Stevie’s after work for a bike ride out by Grapevine Lake, which was really fun.  Then we went to Central Market to pick up some yummy food, and I invited Andy over to dinner (which was funny, inviting Andy to his own house for dinner!).  Well, before we knew it, one bottle of wine turned into 3… and I don’t remember much after that (just kidding!).  So that killed all of Friday and a good chunk of Saturday, considering neither of us got out of bed until close to 1!  Which is when the wedding errands began.

So you remember being a little kid, when you would go to the grocery store with your parents and beg them to let you get something off the check out isle on the way out?  (Which is strategically placed at eye level to lure kids, I’m sure, which is what makes it oh so cruel with the inevitable parental answer to the PLEEASE MOMMMM question is no…)  Well let me tell you, putting a candy bar in at the wedding was total payback!!  We had an absolute blast wandering around Sams putting these massive bags of candy in the cart.  I’m pretty sure the checkout lady thought we were high, though.  Sugar high, maybe!

So then today I spent the whole morning today cleaning, cleaning, cleaning.  Sounds fun, right?  Well, I did learn one very important thing…  I have a much greater appreciation for Andy and the things he helps out with around here after today’s cleaning frenzy.  I usually ship a few things off on him that I really hate doing (shower cleaning and trash duty, mostly).  Well, no Andy meant I was stuck with the scrub brush… yuck.  Soap scum makes me want to throw up.  So after powering through that fun little chore, I decided to show Andy some love, and treat myself, by making a little trip to Victoria’s Secret to pick up a few goodies for the honeymoon.  :)   Enough Said.

After that and a trip by my parents’ to say hey, we had a wonderful dinner (as always) at the Rumplers’.  Andy’s dad did give a very sweet toast to the two of us… I got teary!  Sitting there, at dinner, I really had this moment of just pure happiness.  I can’t believe that in just a few days, I’m going to be Mrs. Andy Rumpler!  I think every second closer we get to Saturday, my smile gets a little bigger.  I’m not kidding… I think my cheeks are starting to hurt already!  Just 5 days and a few hours to go…

Wedding Week Countdown!

And so it begins. I headed over to my parents this morning to help them put together their new TV Stand. They’re having part of the storage room upstairs turned into a media room. It’s pretty intense, the most construction I’ve ever seen completed in what feels like a 3 week period. They’re just waiting on the TV and furniture to be delivered. We were so charged up about our trip to the candy store yesterday that we went ahead and put together a mock-up of the candy bar. We put plastic wrap over the tops of all the containers and Liddy and Brandy agreed to set the bar up at the Villa Saturday.IMG_1219 Amy went over to her parents to put together the favors for the reception. They came out awesome and people are really gonna like them (and if you don’t… Well… You know) At dinner my Dad gave a nice toast saying that a week from today they’ll finally have a redhead in the family. It was really nice since I’ve always known that they were disappointed in their boys and the decided lack of redhairedness we all demonstrate. Back to work tomorrow but just two days worth. Then it’s vacation time for me. That’s when I’ll REALLY start working.

Home Stretch – Part 4

7 days to go. I missed posting yesterday because… Well because I had too much to drink and forgot. Sue me. Anyway, we got a lot done over the past few days. I confirmed the reservations for our Wedding night. We’re staying at the Grand Hyatt DFW it’s right there in the D Terminal at DFW so we can get up and jump on the plane to Mexico first thing Sunday morning.

I also booked the Rolls Royce from the Villa to take us to the hotel after the wedding. It’s gonna be great!!

Yesterday Amy and I went with her mom out to Sam’s and Grapevine Mills to buy a crap-load of candy for the candy bar. We bought about 50 lbs of candy and I was doing weird back-flips from candy cravings. We also ran by Hobby Lobby and got a couple picture frames for her grandparent’s wedding pictures.

We closed out the day by playing Trumpet at her parents house with her cousins Alec and Natalie. As always I dominated. There’s something special about humiliating 13 year old children in a game that makes me feel special. I’m OK with that.
