Dear Diary,
What a great weekend!! We got a TON done over the past few days. Wait, I think I should start at the beginning (or end, of Friday that is).
So, Friday was our date night, as usual. And let me tell you, it was strange! I met Andy at Stevie’s after work for a bike ride out by Grapevine Lake, which was really fun. Then we went to Central Market to pick up some yummy food, and I invited Andy over to dinner (which was funny, inviting Andy to his own house for dinner!). Well, before we knew it, one bottle of wine turned into 3… and I don’t remember much after that (just kidding!). So that killed all of Friday and a good chunk of Saturday, considering neither of us got out of bed until close to 1! Which is when the wedding errands began.
So you remember being a little kid, when you would go to the grocery store with your parents and beg them to let you get something off the check out isle on the way out? (Which is strategically placed at eye level to lure kids, I’m sure, which is what makes it oh so cruel with the inevitable parental answer to the PLEEASE MOMMMM question is no…) Well let me tell you, putting a candy bar in at the wedding was total payback!! We had an absolute blast wandering around Sams putting these massive bags of candy in the cart. I’m pretty sure the checkout lady thought we were high, though. Sugar high, maybe!
So then today I spent the whole morning today cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. Sounds fun, right? Well, I did learn one very important thing… I have a much greater appreciation for Andy and the things he helps out with around here after today’s cleaning frenzy. I usually ship a few things off on him that I really hate doing (shower cleaning and trash duty, mostly). Well, no Andy meant I was stuck with the scrub brush… yuck. Soap scum makes me want to throw up. So after powering through that fun little chore, I decided to show Andy some love, and treat myself, by making a little trip to Victoria’s Secret to pick up a few goodies for the honeymoon.
Enough Said.
After that and a trip by my parents’ to say hey, we had a wonderful dinner (as always) at the Rumplers’. Andy’s dad did give a very sweet toast to the two of us… I got teary! Sitting there, at dinner, I really had this moment of just pure happiness. I can’t believe that in just a few days, I’m going to be Mrs. Andy Rumpler! I think every second closer we get to Saturday, my smile gets a little bigger. I’m not kidding… I think my cheeks are starting to hurt already! Just 5 days and a few hours to go…
